10 Things I was
I was:
1. Surprised...to hear Coldplay used in an advertisement of an Oliver Stone film. I am of course referring to "World Trade Center," which seems perfectly earnest but strangely un-Stone like in its depiction of events in NYC on 9/11/01. I just never thought I'd see the day when a cutey brit-pop band was used in a Stone film about the most significant day in our nation's recent history.
2. Proud...to be accepted into UNH's part-time MBA program.
3. Satisfied...that I finally put together and filled my aquarium with gravel, plants, and water. Fish to be purchased by the end of the week. Pictures to follow.
4. Happy...during Pat and Jamie's visit to Portsmouth. They are the same couple that Lori and I visited earlier this year in Camden, ME. We once again played beer pong...
5. Ashamed...at only sinking 5 beer pong balls in 1 hour.
6. Excited...at my purchase of two $15 Mates of State tickets for September.
7. Worried...that I won't be able to go because of classes.
8. Angry...at Lauren for not taking the job in Paris to instead spend the summer with Jason. Granted, she probably doesn't want a career in fashion that badly -- while Whitney clearly does -- but still, wake up honey.
9. Disappointed...in myself to have got caught going through a red light. Cop pulled me over and managed to make a crack about the skeleton in my backseat -- "What did he do?" --- and be overall condescending to me by saying "What does a yellow light mean, Matthew?" But he only gave me a warning, so why am I complaining?
10. Pissed...that I impulsively bought an air conditioner on the hottest day of the year, which was immediately followed by a cold front that lasted for 4 days. Tonight it's back to being humid though, so I feel better about spending the money.

This is my problem with LC. She lives a life of entitlement. Everything she's ever had has come to her because of her wealth, her status, and her "Laguna Beach" fame. She's offered a bona fide chance to start her career - at an age and location that a million kids would cut their own throats to be starting at - and opts instead to shack up with person who doesn't love her, doesn't respect her, and won't probably be in her life in another 5 years (unless she enjoys this sado-machism more than I think she does).
Kudos to Whitney for jumping at the chance when Lauren opted out.
