Blog? What Blog?
I really need to update my blog more often. Duh, right? There's not a whole lot to catch up on. But here are some tidbits for now before I type up a full post early next week:
Work #1: Fiscal year end 2006 came to close on March 31. I helped the company save crazy amounts of money, but somehow I don't think I'll be thanked for all my efforts.
Work #2: I am very likely to be moving into what is called the "Customer 1st" program within my company. It's basically a project-oriented position that guarantees a higher-paying, promoted position at the end of a 2-year stint. It's considered a high honor to be asked to move into it (but it's not like you have a choice either). I think it'd be good for me to finally move on out of my normal financial analyst role and into something a little more leadership oriented. I'd be pretty much on my own, managing my own projects with my own team, my own time, and it would be easier for me to attend Business School.
Coachella/California Trip:
What was once a 4-day, festival-only vacation has now turned into a 6-day getaway for both me and my dad. Dad and I are flying into San Diego on Thursday and staying until Friday night. We're then driving to Palm Springs/Indio where I'll go the festival for two days and he'll hang around the pool and sip smoothies (if ever actually did that, i'd need a camera). Monday and Tuesday it's back to San Diego. So I'll get to see Josh, see some awesome bands, and hang with my dad. And none of those three things conflict. Hurray!
Trip to Camden, Maine:
Lori and I drove up to Camden to visit two of her friends from college. They gave us a nice tour of the area and then we played Beer Pong w/ Yeungling. Me and Pat won. And I'd never played before. This is me when it was all over:

Movies:
"Inside Man" -- Very "Usual Suspects"-like. I thought the race humor was a little forced and pat. 3/5.
"Proof" -- Unimpressed with Paltrow in this one. Surprising considering she played the role on broadway (thanks to jude for that interesting factoid). 2.5/5.
"Sliding Doors"-- Enjoyable. Paltrow is charming, as is Jeanne Tripplehorn, in a juicy 'other woman' role that lets her let it all out. 3.5/5.
"You've Got Mail" -- I lost a bet with Lori. Had to watch this. Fell asleep. Now I have to watch it again. Hanks tries hard to do more in his scenes than the script dictates. He doesn't always succeed. 2/5, barring a second-watch.
"The Squid and the Whale" -- Waiting for me to watch it.
TV:
"24" -- I think I'm behind by two episodes. The last I saw, CTU had just been shutdown due to a released nerve gas canister. And Edgar died. YES!
"Lost: Season 1" -- Lori and I watched all 7 discs. What a great show. My favorite is still "Outlaws," the second Sawyer-centric episode where he kills a man who he thinks ruined his life. He also meets Jack's dad in a bar.
"Lost" -- again, two episodes. Have them on iTunes. The show has gone seriously down hill if you ask me.
"Sopranos: Season 6, Eps 1 & 2" -- We knew they couldn't go through with it. And I knew the new character would end up dead. Gandolfini needs to lose weight. Fast. Can't wait to watch Ep3 and 4. Lori is mulling over whether or not she wants to embark on a massive "Sopranos" catch-up, starting with the very first episode.
May -- the month of blockbusters:
The following films are opening in the month of May:
"Mission: Impossible 3" - May 5 (you know you want to see it)
"Poseidon" - May 12
"The DaVinci Code" - May 19
"X-Men: The Last Stand" - May 26 (I don't care what the buzz is saying, this looks good to me)
I mean, jesus, can the box office take all of this at once? Oh wow, listen to me, like I still pay attention to that stuff anyways.
Music:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Show Your Bones. I'm seeing them at Coachella and damn if I'm not gonna know the songs. The new album is as good as can be expected. No "Maps," but "Cheated Hearts" is really good. 2.5/5.
Mates of State, Bring it Back. Really good. Favorite right now is the single "Fraud in the '90s." Does anyone know know why "Goods" isn't on the album? 3.5/5.
NCAA Tourney:
I'm going to come in fourth place in the office pool, which me and fellow analyst Colin coordinated. I had Duke, UCLA, NC, and Villanova in the final four. That's 1 more correct pick than almost everyone else. Lori beat 6 of us in the Foxsports.com online game. Too bad she had a different bracket in the money pool. Ha ha! Btw, the games last night SUCKED. Baby Davis needs to get in shape.
That stupid movie I was supposed to be in:
"Stiffs" has finished filming and I was never involved in any shoot. The day I was supposed to double for one of the characters was cancelled due to weather concerns. I really don't care anymore.
Aquarium:
I bought an aquarium kit. It includes a 20-gallon tank and all the equipment I need. I'm not purchasing the fish, gravel, plants until after my California trip because I'm po'h.
One more, very important thing (SWERVE):
Go visit http://www.swervethemovie.com/ and look how awesome Brian's film is looking.

And, oh, nevermind. This was a full post.
