Noooooo!

My iPod is broken. Its screen is frozen, I can't turn it off, and I'm helpless. I took it out running with me and I guess it couldn't handle the jostling, or the sound of my lungs gasping for air. In any case, please do me a favor and pray for little iMatt.

I've heard way too many similar stories regarding iPods in the last few months. I recommend finding something wrong with your iPod (commonly the battery life or the screen freezing) and bringing it in before the warranty is up. If you're lucky, they'll just hand you a new one. Mine expires in December so i'm planning bringing it in November regardless of whether it's totally broken or not - because from what I hear that first run of iPods is pretty much destined to crash in some way or another. Too bad because it's such a great product otherwise, and mac products generally have very good reliability.

Thanks for the info. I was able to fix iMatt simply by pressing menu and select buttons simultaneously. It's basically the restart function.
