"Lost" countdown
So tonight was the first hour of the last four hours of "Lost," Season 1. The main plotline involving the raft and the hatch moved forward a little bit thanks to ominous warnings from Sayid and Walt, but the episode was mostly about Kate and how badly she wants to get on the raft. Normally I'd be pissed about that since, once again, we don't learn anything more about the island. But the episode was so damn well-written. We've come to know "island" Kate as dependable, virtuous, and great-looking in a tank-top. Sort of the girl-next-door who everyone thinks they could bang. But in the flashbacks she is selfish and dangerous, and one gets the sense she'd kick you in the balls for looking at her. When her dying mom starts screaming for help when she sees her, I got the chills. What is going on with this girl? What did she do? The (sexy) mystery deepens. And I suspect we won't know the full story until next season.
And how about Sawyer's hurtful goodbye message to Kate: "There's nothing on this island worth staying for." Ohhhh SNAP! That's cold, Sawyer. Cold.
