Fuck you Jo-Bu
Preview of next week's "24": "I know someone who can advise you better than I can." Cut to a shot of former President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), looking all wise and in-control. Yes!
I hate the new President on "24" almost as much as I hate Marwan. First off, he's weak and scared for his life when he should be the exact opposite. Secondly, he can't make a decision. (Both of those are things I was afraid of in John Kerry). Third, he looks like Richard Nixon, and that can't possibly be a coincidence.
Another thing that drove me up the wall (in a good way) was Amnesty International's interference with the interrogation of a man who most surely knew something about Marwan's plans. It struck a nerve in me because it was so blatantly causing the increased likelihood of more american deaths. Frankly, I'm not bothered by the "torture memos" sent out by (now) Attorney General Alberto Gonsalez and the Geneva Convention violations the U.S. has allegedly engaged in. I probably should be, but I'm not, because too much is at stake, and we need all the information we can get. When Jack fires himself as a CTU agent so that he can torture the suspect as a private citizen, I was cheering. I'm sorry, but it felt right.
So, yeah, "24" was good tonight, except for the silly relationship stuff you know they're just using as filler. The big thing that happened today was the arrival of all my furniture. Well, I shouldn't say "my" furniture. It's furniture my sister was gracious enough to give me (for free!) when she moved last week to Florida. So I finally have a furnished living room, a big bed, a table, and lamps. It's awesome.
Oh, and did I mention I ate dinner with Lori the safety engineer last week? Yeah, it was cool (friends only). We talked about movies. She hated "Closer," liked "Alfie" and LOVES "Napolean Dynamite." But I won't hold that against her.

I love the name of the link. I immediately thought of Sorrano.
